State-of-the-art LED Display Solution for Swindon Innovation Centre

Background

In 2023, Multivac completed a £1.4m investment to create a state-of-the-art innovation centre in Swindon to run equipment of all sizes for new product development and demonstrations.

When you enter the building, there is a welcoming open-plan reception area with colourful images of produce and processing equipment. A large bright 98” display screen provides branded visitor information and company updates.

The Innovation Centre contains a kitchen, an expansive packaging area, and a mini-supermarket. Digital displays enhance the visitor experience throughout the building and the kitchen is no exception featuring a 65” digital signage screen.

As you continue, you enter the well-equipped kitchen, which is particularly beneficial for food manufacturers to cook and prepare food to test how the packaging performs in real-life conditions.
Upon entering the spacious, bright Innovation Centre, you are immersed in an experience that showcases a comprehensive range of advanced packaging equipment. The Centre raises the bar for demonstrations where manufacturers can see at firsthand end-to-end processes for packaging, portioning, labelling, and branding their products.

At the heart of the Innovation Centre is an impressive 136” LG LED screen which is a standout feature among the high-tech equipment. This all-in-one LED screen, with its vibrant colours and high bright display, is perfect for digital signage and impactful presentations.

After the products are packed, clients can view them in a simulated retail setting within the supermarket area. This space includes dedicated shelves for displaying dry goods and fresh produce, along with cold storage for meat and other perishable items.

The Challenge

Digital display screens throughout the centre to enhance the visitor experience. A key feature of the Innovation Centre is a large display screen. Multivac wanted to replace the outdated video wall with a solution that complemented the high-tech immersive environment. The display needed to be visually striking and highly engaging while also performing effectively against the bright room lights and afternoon sunlight.

The Solution

To determine the best digital display solution solution for the Innovation Centre, Visually Connected Worldwide arranged a visit to Innovation House, the UK’s largest multi-brand experience centre. The centre is run by PSCo/Midwich, a leading provider of LED who guided the Multivac team through an extensive lineup of multi-brand displays set up in real-life application sizes.

The Innovation Centre

Multivac selected the LG 136” all-in-one LED display as the perfect addition to their newly renovated Innovation Centre. This premium display features an ultra-slim, bezel-free design, delivering deep blacks and vivid colours that bring images to life. With exceptional picture quality and brightness, and a wide viewing angle, along with a built-in speaker, it’s perfectly suited for a showroom environment.

The installation process was quick and seamless, with the LED screen set up in just a few hours and completed in under a day – in time for Multivac’s Oktoberfest and 40th-anniversary celebration.
To further enhance the visitor experience, Visually Connected Worldwide installed an AirServer at the Innovation Centre, enabling effortless display of information, presentations, or videos. With wireless content sharing, visitors can easily share content from their own devices—whether mobile phones, tablets, or laptops—and compare up to 20 images simultaneously. This streamlined setup allows for more interactive and engaging product demonstrations.
