Located in central London, 7 Mansfield Street is the headquarters of the British Veterinary Association. It is a stunning Grade ll Listed Georgian townhouse that offers several beautiful meeting and event spaces for hire. The Mary Brancker room

The largest and most impressive room, boasting original features such as an ornate ceiling, full-height windows, and elegant chandeliers. This stunning space offers versatile layout options, accommodating up to 50 people for a lecture, 22 for a boardroom setup, or 60 for a standing reception.

The challenge

Due to the site’s Grade II listed status, mounting equipment on walls or ceilings or integrating cabling was strictly prohibited. This presented a unique challenge, requiring us to design technology solutions that were highly flexible and mobile and that minimised visible cabling for a clean setup.
The BVA sought an in-house solution to host large meetings in preference to hiring external event spaces. Their vision involved creating a flexible, multipurpose space by combining the Mary Brancker room and the George Fleming room when needed while retaining the ability to use them as separate rooms. The key challenges were to maintain the rooms’ aesthetic appeal and also address the unique layout of the George Fleming room, which is L-shaped, presenting potential visibility issues for presentations and video conferencing.

Our technology solution

Designed for versatility, our audio-visual technology solutions are mobile and adaptable to support a variety of meeting and event types, room layouts, and seating plans. Additionally, the technology can be used in separate rooms or across combined spaces, ensuring maximum flexibility and functionality.

All equipment was selected for its superior performance, reliability, and user-friendly design. The result is a consistent experience across all meeting rooms, with crystal-clear sound, sharp displays, and seamless connectivity. With the touch of a button, the system intuitively adapts to the room’s configuration, ensuring every setup is perfectly optimised. Users can rely on a stress-free, intuitive experience every time—effortless, consistent, and seamless in every space.

For the first installation, in the Mary Brancker and Aleen Cust rooms, we chose a Yealink video conferencing system as the best solution to pair with the wireless table microphones due to the restrictions of the Listed building status.

Later in the year, we were tasked with designing a flexible technology solution to enable the Mary Brancker room and the George Fleming room to function as individual spaces or as one large, combined meeting and event venue. This project required careful consideration of the listed building restrictions, which prohibited wall fixings, as well as the unique L-shaped layout of the George Fleming room.

Our solution was a versatile, mobile system that included loudspeakers on stands (two per room), wireless microphones, an intelligent presenter-tracking camera mounted on a tripod, and a 75” display on a mobile trolley. When not in use, the system can be easily moved to the George Fleming room for video conferencing.  This offers seamless functionality without compromising the building’s heritage or aesthetic.

Meetings and events transcend the beauty of these spaces, enhanced by cutting-edge technology designed to elevate the guest experience, whether for boardroom meetings or large-scale conferences. The carefully selected technology offers a flexible, user-friendly system that delivers exceptional audio and visual quality.  The technology solution seamlessly adapts and scales to suit both small and expansive meeting spaces.
